LinkedIn and Branding

As we known, linkedIn is becoming most popular job searching website. Initially, all of LinkedIn’s services were free to job seekers. But over the past few years, in an effort to generate profits, LinkedIn shifted its business model and started acting more like a job board than a networking site. Along the way, the company began charging employers to post jobs and to gain access to resume; it also invited job seekers to pay for “premium” services. Is LinkedIn really linking you in? With more than 238 million members, including 4 million in Australia, a profile on LinkedIn is like the modern-day equivalent of a business card, but this kind of broad-based job boards make bundles of money while companies waste millions on the posting and people rarely find positions through them. This is I “FELL” like some broad – based jobs boards are becoming more branding which is losing its initial values and not helping people to find job positions. It is huge problem with linkedIn. This practice discriminates against people who can’t afford to pay for placement. But more to the point, it preys on job seekers’ insecurities by promising a benefit that is really no benefit at all. After all, how impressed is an employer likely to be when it knows you paid for placement? Incredibly, by placing a premium badge next to your profile, LinkedIn makes it ridiculously easy for employers to know when job seekers have shelled out cash to get their resumes seen. What LinkedIn Says About Its Fee. LinkedIn calls this transparency which means if customers need put their resume on LinkedIn board, it required customers to pay them and LinkedIn selects customers’ resumes and make them better, then sell them to some companies which are seeking some people, then LinkedIn will get double pay from both sides. This is totally becoming a branding, not a seeking job platform.

World of QR Code

They come to us from Japan where they are very common. QR is short for Quick Response (they can be read quickly by a cell phone). They are used to take a piece of information from a transitory media and put it in to your cell phone. You may soon see QR Codes in a magazine advert, on a billboard, a web page or even on someone’s t-shirt. Once it is in your cell phone, it may give you details about that business (allowing users to search for nearby locations), or details about the person wearing the t-shirt, show you a URL which you can click to see a trailer for a movie, or it may give you a coupon which you can use in a local outlet.
The reason why they are more useful than a standard barcode is that they can store (and digitally present) much more data, including url links, geo coordinates, and text. The other key feature of QR Codes is that instead of requiring a chunky hand-held scanner to scan them, many modern cell phones can scan them.
How does the cell phone read the code?
The cell phone needs a QR code reader, like this one from Kaywa It takes literally 1 minute for someone with an iPhone or Android phone to find and install the reader.
How do you generate a code?
You can easily generate a QR code using a site like Kaywa or you can use the Open Source code to generate codes for you if you have a smart developer on hand.
How will Google see them?
If you add them to your website, the search engines will see that your pages have changed, and that you are updating pages. The search engine will see a new image and index it accordingly. At some point soon, the search engines will likely recognize QR codes and possibly index the content in them.
How could you use a QR code?
Your business, no matter how small or large, could use QR codes in a number of ways. You might auto generate one next to every product on your web site containing all the product details, the number to call and the URL link to the page so they can show their friends on their cell phone. You could add one to your business card containing your contact details so its easy for someone to add you to their contacts on their cell phone.
Add them to any print advertising, flyers, posters, invites, TV ads etc containing:
·       Product details
·       Contact details
·       Offer details
·       Event details
·       Competition details
·       A coupon
·       Twitter, Facebook, MySpace IDs
·       A link to your YouTube video

Social Networking Security

Today, more and more people are using social media platforms to create, share, and exchange information and idea through the network.   And most of them did not realize, they are also exposing their personal information to the public, like your home address, phone number and degree of prosperity. Therefore social networking security should be a good lecture for the people who have rich social relation online.

For example, www.renren.com is some kind of Chinese face book for the most of the Chinese college students. When I was in college, it is the best social network for the college student, but now after it become branding. It is on the wrong business way.
I just saw one break new in couple days ago. The renren was exposing the student’s Tencent QQ number to some criminal agencies. (QQ is an online chatting platform). And the criminal agencies are trying to use the contracts from the QQ to reach the owner’s parents’ QQ number, and doing some kind of financial swindles. This is the reason why the most of Chinese people always got some unknown phone numbers calling and message about financial swindles. Comparing to before, we have already sharing too much personal information to public, but most of the people have no chooses. The reason is if you want to use their service, you must need to share some kind of your personal information to their agencies for getting their service. For example, we need to use our actual email to get the agencies’ confirm link.
Technology is growing so fast, so the lawmaker is also making different laws to restrict these technologies to violate personal privacy, but the question is, is it really can limit the technology to stop violating personal privacy?  If I am the client's technical advisor, I suggest two main points. One is to help the customers to protect their personal information security, and the other one is to prevent the wrong business way from their services.  I hope every business client services can loyally service for their customers, not only care their profit and branding.
