The first time I know about hacker was when I was in mid-school. At that time, I only know some people was hacking to other people’s game and stealing their game ID. After I did a research online about hacking and I found this, hacking refers to the break the security system and modification of a program in others’ computer system. All hacker should be a clever programmer. The word hacker is used in public report to describe someone who tries to break into others’ computer systems. Normally, this kind of hacker is a professional programmer or computer engineer with enough technical knowledge can understand the points of weakness in a computer security system. A hacker can easily exploits and seeks points of weaknesses in a computer system or computer network by circuit bending. A bad hacker may bring disastrously financial crisis to any people or companies. A good hack is a clever solution solver to a programming problem.
There are five possible characteristics that qualify one as a hacker, which we paraphrase here:
• A person enjoys learning computer system and programming.
• A person enjoys actually doing the programming rather than just talk about it.
• A person can picks up programming quickly.
• A person is an expert at a particular programming language system
The conclusion is to be a good hacker, or a bad hacker, it is not only depends on his knowledge, but it is also based on that personal virtues.
I have to agree that having the knowledge, and use it in way that it is not meant to could result in consequences that may negatively effect the other. In this case, I am talking about the knowledge that the hacker have about computer program. However, as you may have already know, there are many other hackers out there as well. Some are doing it for the benefit of the other, while some could land on a job in company that provide security software as security expert. This is all depends on the ways in which these experts are using your expertise.

ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you that hackers are good and knowledgeable programmers. I think most of the hackers are good and try to use their expertise in fixing network issues and solving problems. People are usually confused between hackers and crackers. Crackers are bad because they try to break copyright and software protection. Anyways, you were right. To determine who is good or who is bad, it all depends on how people apply their skills in life.
I agree with your post saying hackers are clever programmers. Malicious attacks on computer networks are officially known as cracking, while hacking truly applies only to activities having good intentions. Most non-technical people fail to make this distinction, however. It is extremely common to see the term "hack" misused and be applied to cracks as well.

Hi! I liked how you characterized a typical hacker. In every game that I've played in my life, there are ALWAYS hacks available. Sometimes, hackers even release their hacks to the public so others may join in on hacking the game. I have downloaded some of these hacks myself (I feel guilty) to abuse the game system. I definitely agree that these hackers are quite clever in finding a hole in the game and cracking it.
